Commence Washout

Rain has or will be quickly overspreading the area. As you can see by the radar picture below, rain is really starting to fill in and organize over the Middle Atlantic States. The plume of moisture will be pushing south to north and will be over the area for an extended period of time. 2-4" can be expected over the area. Below is also the GFS and NAM model runs showing precipitation amounts over the next couple days total. As you can see, we are in for a soaker.

The other interesting thing about this storm is areas to the NW and West will more than likely be dealing with SNOW. Snow will fall, especially in the mountain areas, as the storm cranks up along the coast and really drops in some cold air. In fact, Winter Storm Watches have already been posted for areas as close as State College, PA.
